As an organically certified establishment, we consciously prioritise regional, fresh and organic produce in our cuisine, for example, and work with responsible suppliers and partners. At the same time, the culinary experience at Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T. is a top priority.
Organic certification
Since May 2020, the Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T. has been awarded the A⋅B⋅CERT organic label. This demonstrates that we comply with the EU-wide regulations governing the production, processing, trade and import of organic products. This provides transparency for our guests regarding the organic products we use. The A⋅B⋅CERT also reflects our long-standing collaboration with regional producers and partners within a supply chain that meets A⋅B⋅CERT requirements.
Green Sign
We take our responsibility for sustainable business very seriously, which is why the Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T. has been a certified Green Sign Hotel since September 2023.
The basis for the certification is a unique five-stage certification system that not only assesses the actual state of sustainability of a hotel business, but also shows a way to continuously improve and further develop its own sustainability performance. As part of the certification process, eight subject areas and 100 criteria are examined, which take into account the ecological aspect of sustainability as well as the social and economic dimension:

The basis for the final assessment of a hotel is a level system from 1 to 5 (5 being the highest level of sustainable management). We are delighted to have been awarded Green Sign Level 4 at the first attempt.
Since June 2022, the certification catalogue for GreenSign Hotel certification has been recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). This recognition relates to the criteria and requirements of the certification scheme.
Busy bees at Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T.
The park at Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T. is green and blooming - much to the delight of our bees. Thanks to the diverse, natural landscape with wild cherry, herbs and lime trees, their free-range hives on a slope offer the finest nectar for collecting. The water of the nearby Tauber is also good for feeding the brood. So-called “Hutungen” - uncultivated areas where orchids and a variety of herbs grow - round off the bee paradise in the Wildbadpark.
The full-bodied honey from our industrious bees is often used in the cuisine of Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T. and is also sold under its own brand “Honey from Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T.”
100 percent environmentally friendly electricity
Our hotel is committed to the responsible use of resources. Issues such as energy efficiency and the economical use of energy play an important role in this regard.
Climate protection, the reduction of CO2 emissions and the associated energy savings and increases in energy efficiency are a necessity from an ecological point of view.
In Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T., electricity is used that is backed by guarantees of origin from hydroelectric power stations. These guarantees of origin are verified by the Federal Environment Agency and recorded in the Register of Guarantees of Origin.
